Electronic Truck Scales

Electronic truck scales are used for weighing cars, trucks and car trailers. Cars can be weighed with the car stopped on the measuring platform - in this case, static truck scales are used, and the maximum accuracy of vehicle weighing is ensured. The error in measuring the mass of the vehicle is negligible and is usually proportional to the mass of the vehicle being weighed.

Static and Dynamic Truck Scales

If it is necessary to control the mass of vehicles - possibly with trailers, without stopping them, for example, in conditions of high traffic, when controlling the excess of the axle load, in quarries and other similar cases - dynamic truck scales are used. In this case, weighing is carried out with the axle count and summation of their masses. The accuracy of measuring the weight of a car in the case of using dynamic truck scales is lower than when using static truck scales, but a high throughput of the scales is provided.

Features of the Design of Truck Scales

Automobile scales are stationary and with the possibility of their movement. Permanently installed truck scales are a platform on which a car drives. Usually this platform is made flush with the roadway, or has a slight rise. In the first case, all mechanisms and sensors of truck scales are placed below ground level, and the installation of such truck scales requires some excavation. Truck scales with a lift are a platform, inside which all weighing equipment is located, the installation of such scales is simpler and cheaper than in the first version. In such designs, both static and dynamic truck scales can be made. With the ability to move, dynamic truck scales are usually produced. They are a small platform on which all the axles of the car alternately drive, while the electronic scales calculate the total weight of the car.
